    I love adverts from this era. They make excellent jig-saw puzzles and wonderful biscuit tins. I am not being sarcastic : I rate both biscuit tins and jig-saw puzzles quite highly.

    In WW2 cloth was rationed and I was by law not allowed to wear long trousers till I was 13 years old. Those socks ring a bell complete with their green stripes.
